11th February, Doha: Forty-boys, twenty-four girls and fourteen officials will be taking part in the 13th International Youth Friendship Bowling Championship 2025 which will be held from 11th to 15th February at Qatar International Bowling Centre.

On the invitation of Qatar Bowling Federation, Colombia, Czech Republic, Finland, Mexico, Peru and Sweden have accepted and will compete with four teams from host, Qatar in the friendship-fostering event for the next five days.

Their participation was confirmed during the managers' meeting chaired by Tournament Director, Mr Pedro Merani held at Retaj Al Rayyan Hotel. Mr Merani went through the important aspects of the championships and elaborated on the format of play.

Lane draws were also conducted for the Singles, Doubles and Team of 4 events. Players will bowl 6 games in the Singles, 6 games in the Doubles and 6 games in the Team of 4. The top 4 at the end of the Singles will be declared the medal winners.

Similarly, the top 4 Doubles at the end of the 6 games will and the top 4 teams will also be declared the medal winners.

The top 10 boys in the All Events standings (18 games) plus two best from each country and two best from each of the four Qatar teams (total 30) and the Top 6 girls in the All Events standings plus two best from each country (total 18) will qualify for the Masters Finals.

The finalists will play 6 games in the Stage 1 Masters finals, with 50% pinfalls from their All Events carried forward. The field will be cut to Top 12 Boys (with the Top 4 earning a bye, positions 5 - 12 for quarter-finals) and top 8 Girls for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final knockout elimination rounds over best-of-3 matches until the champion is declared in the final.

Official practice will be held later today at 16:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs. Competition will kick off with the Singles tomorrow, Doubles on 13th February, Team on 14th February and Masters Finals on 15th February. The medal ceremony will take place at the end of each event.
